The goal of the Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPMP) is to provide a basis for pest management that will protect public health, as well as water quality, and non-target plants and animals by utilizing the most environmentally sound approaches to pest management by prescribing the types and toxicity limits of chemical pest control treatments applied on City property. The IPMP will allow the use of pesticides under stringent rules to ensure ongoing weed and pest management with limited resources and tight budgets. Vegetation Treatment General Order

Under Executive Order B-52-18, former Governor Jerry Brown set a goal of treating 500,000 acres of vegetation per year to reduce wildfire risk. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and other local, state, and federal agencies are increasing the pace and scale of vegetation treatment throughout California to meet that goal. The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is developing a statewide water quality order for vegetation treatment activities (proposed Vegetation Treatment General Order) to ensure vegetation treatments are conducted in a way that is protective of water quality.  The proposed Vegetation Treatment General Order would require project proponents to follow the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) developed by the Board of Forestry and Fire Protection (BOF). For more information visit the State Water Resources Control Board NPS website.
