Blue Economy

The Blue Economy is about sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods and jobs, and a healthy marine ecosystem

The City has taken the lead to generate a regional conversation and explore how a strategic approach to opportunities within the “Blue Economy” could improve livelihoods and wages, while also nurturing healthy marine ecosystems. Regular meetings are taking place with the City, Noyo Harbor District, Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo, Mendocino Community College, West Business Development Center and Noyo Center for Marine Science at the table.

Together we form the Noyo Ocean Collective – a regional coalition of public, private and non-profit entities focused on advancing blue economy opportunities to sustainably diversify our coastal economy. Sign up on the City's "Notify Me" subscriber page for the Blue Economy subscriber list and participate in this exciting conversation.
