City Service

Councilmember Rafanan was appointed to the City Council in February 2021 to fill the vacant seat following the resignation of former Mayor Will Lee. She serves on the Finance and Administration Committee. Marcia ran in the November 2022 election and won a four-year seat on the Council. Her term will expire in December 2026.

Personal History

Marcia Rafanan is a lifelong resident of Fort Bragg. She moved away for a couple of years to experience life outside of Fort Bragg, but soon realized this is the best place to start a family and raise her two children. Marcia volunteers with the elderly, assists with the city’s homeless needs, and volunteers at the local schools. She has worked in the restaurant industry for over twenty years, which is where she has gotten to know many of our locals and returning tourists. Marcia is currently employed by Parents & Friends.
